Today's Fun

It Really Doesn't Get Much Better Than This

Today was such a fun day. My godson Valentino is staying with my family and I for the summer. He and my Uncle live in St. Marteen and since we don't get to see them often its been great to spend time with the little guy and see him growing up. I must say...he is quite adorable. We went outside this afternoon to paint pictures but as many things do when a 3 year old is involved it quickly turned messy haha. One quick swipe of his brush on my arm was all it took for an all out body painting session to occur. Valentino painted me and I painted him and the results can be seen above. We were both going for a tribal look haha. After spending a good portion of the afternoon painting with Valentino saying "this is great!" and "I love it!" the whole time we headed inside for a watermelon break...the perfect snack after a warm day outside. After that we made paper airplanes and took them outside to see how they flew. To cap the afternoon off we spent some time snuggling in my bed watching Batman cartoons (Tino's favorite) and before we knew it it was nap time. I love spending quality time with my godson and today is a day I'll remember forever. Have you created any great family memories lately?

My New Best Friend a.k.a My New Bag

Oh my goodness where do I even begin. This bag has currently taken on the role of my new love interest and I think it's here for the long haul haha. Speaking of hauls...I recently went to the Roosevelt Field Mall with my best friend Christina. I bought a few new items and by "few" i mean too many haha but it's not my fault...all the stores were out to get me...ESPECIALLY Urban Outfitters which is where I got this beauty. I'm planning on sharing all my new purchases with you but just couldn't wait to gush about this bag. So let me set the scene...Christina and I are about to leave the mall after countless hours of shopping...such a hard job I know haha...and as we were walking towards the door we passed Urban Outfitters, turned to eachother and said "lets go in." We took a lap around the store and came upon a rack filled with wallets and bags. Now we had both been on the search for the ultimate wallet/bag, the bag to end all bags. The one that was perfect for running errands/holding the essentials and also perfect to take on nights out. When we laid eyes on this little chap we knew he was gorgeous but when we picked him up it went to a whole other level. This bag is so soft and buttery its like touching a cloud! Upon further inspection seeing it came with a lovely gold chain for a strap and had roomy yet organizable pockets we both knew we had to have it. I have worn this everyday since getting it and can see it going with so many outfits. Can't wait to take him on a night out and see how good of a job he does. You can buy the bag online here http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=24931693&parentid=W_ACC_BAGS

Mini Mac Haul!

The sun is shining as I sit in my yard soaking up the sun so why not share a few things I picked up from MAC recently. MAC was doing an offer online for free second day shipping so I thought to myself "oh just do it...you know you want to" and off I went to the MAC website. Now I already had a MAC wish list that I was visualizing in my head...as one does hahah....but ultimately settled on a mineralized skinfinish in Soft & Gentle as well as a blush in Melba. As I waited for my package to arrive I dreamt of coral glowing cheeks and then finally it was here.

MAC describes their mineralized skinfinish as a "luxurious velvet-soft powder with high-frost metallic finish. Smoothes on: adds buffed-up highlights to cheeks, or an overall ultra-deluxe polish to the face. A luxurious velvet-soft powder with high-frost metallic finish. Smoothes on: adds buffed-up highlights to cheeks, or an overall ultra-deluxe polish to the face." and calles soft and gentle a "gilded peach bronze." My impression of this product was that it was gorgeous but I wasn't sure of how it was going to look once applied to the face in fear that it would be too sparkley...boy was I wrong. After appling this to the outer portion of my cheeks and sweeping it up to my temples it made my sking look so healthy and glowing...not a bad vibe for your skin to give off if you ask me haha.
MAC describes Melba as a soft coral-peach. It is a matte finish and gives your cheeks a warm and natural look. Nothing too harsh or obvious, just a nice flush of color thats perfect for everyday. Think of when your skin naturally goes a touch pink on the cheek (maybe from talking to a cute boy haha) and thats the color that Melba gives off.
All in all I'm very pleased with these 2 products and see them becoming staples in my makeup routine. Have you tried these? What are your favorite MAC blushes?

All Aboard...

A Day In The Life

So here it is...my first blog post. Untill I get the hang of this I thought I'd post about my day. I woke up this morning and went for a run around where I live. After working out I  had a smoothie for breakfast. I have to say, I am really loving smoothies in the morning. They are so easy, super refreshing for the summer and so healthy! Mine this morning consisted of rasberry yogurt, blackberries, pineapple and milk all blended together. After breakfast I showered and got ready for the day since my friend Karin from school was coming over. When she got to my house we went out to Cabo Fresh for lunch. I got a shrimp and mango burito which was delish and of course a side of chips and queso. There may or may not have been guacamole present but I don't guac and tell haha. After lunch we went to see the Batman movie. At first I didn't know if I was going to enjoy but man oh man was I wrong, it was so good! If you haven't seen it you should...the last half hour was amazeballs. After the movie we came back and ate dinner at my house. Good old chicken cutlets and fussile with sauce, salad, and garlic bread. Yum Yum Yum. We relaxed a little after dinner and then went to feed the ducks at the lake. Let me tell you...those ducks are fiesty. Once they catch on that you have bread to give them they come charging at you like a pack of wild dogs and they are not afraid to get too close! There was one duck that was missing a webbed foot, it was so sad :( The swans were so big I felt like they were taller than me when they extended their necks hahah. After running for our lives Karin left to drive home and I went out for drinks with some friends. All in all a pretty good day. How did your day go? Get eaten by any rougue ducks haha?
